Great Wall of China is a series of fortification made of stone, brick, wood and other materials, generally built an east-to-west across the historical northern borders of China. Binaan ini adalah sebuah kubu yg panjang yg dibina untuk melindungi Chinese Empire dari serangan various nomadic groups dan tentera-tentera asing yg memusuhi empayar China.
During my trip to Beijing, I got the opportunity to explore this marvelous man-made creation. I entered the Great Wall of China from Ju Yong Pass.
Ju Yong Pass on the North Pass is also known as Badaling. When used by the Chinese to protect their land, this section of the wall had many guard to defend China's capital Beijing.
This construction of this structure bermula pada abad ke 7 BC, dan kemudian ia bercantum seterusnye bersatu menjadi binaan yg besar yg dinamakan Great Wall.
The Great Wall of China stretches from Shanhaiguan in the East, to Lop Lake in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia.
Ade kisah yg mengaitkan Great Wall of China dengan benteng yang dibina oleh Iskandar Zualkarnain untuk mengepung Yakjuj & Makjuj. Tetapi kebenaran masih kekal misteri.
Regardless the supremacy of this man-made marvel, it couldn't withstand the superiority of the weather.
Dikatakan 60km bahagian Great Wall di Wilayah Gansu akan hilang dalam masa 20 thn akan datang kerana hakisan & ribut pasir. There are places where the height of the wall has been reduced from more than 5m to less than 2m. Most of the western section of the wall are made from mud. So it is more susceptible to erosion. Pada August 2012, 30m daripada bahagian di Wilayah Hebei telah runtuh kerana hujan lebat yg berterusan.
